3D is the latest and great thing in the HOME THEATER arena. I get a lot of questions from friends and family asking is 3D worth the money. I also get asked will 3D stay or will it go the way of the Dodo Bird. I have done a lot of research on 3D and I think it can be a great new way to watch your movies and sports. With that said I also think that the price will have to come down for the components you need to have to watch 3D. It will also depend on the film industry and TV media if they want to make 3D an everyday part of life. If and when all the stars align 3D will be the best and only way to watch your favorite movies and TV.
Live TV is a term used for a piece of equipment that turns your TV in to a media center. What I mean by a media center is you can watch all forms of video, movies, pictures and even the internet on your TV. A live device can turn all kinds of digital data into a signal that your TV can process and then you can watch or listen to on your Home Theater system. The live device does not cost a lot and are really a good way to watch all kinds of things. Another big option on all of the new live devices is built in WIFI. So you can watch your movies you rent from NET FLIX or other internet video providers on your TV and not just on your computer. This is a really great option that will be used more and more as time goes on.

One of the trusted names in projection screens, Elite offers individuals a true home theater experience. If you’re interested in going beyond what’s offered by a big screen TV, consider putting one of these projection screens and a digital projector in your home’s media viewing room. In fact, many people have eschewed the theater altogether by implementing Elite screens or similar products in their home.
But people often have many questions about these types of screens because they do differ from a standard television set. And in many cases, people find that caring for these screens is very similar to a standard television set. For example, people often want to know how to properly clean one of these screens, and the answer is that it’s best to use water and mild soap. There are no surprises there for any TV owner. But unlike standard television sets, these projection screens are a great way to conserve space.
Experience a full-blown music experience every time you turn on your music player. There are many iPod accessories available to enhance your listening pleasure. Test drive a pair of noise-canceling or sound-isolating iPod headphones for distraction-free listening. There are even waterproof headphones how that one can even bring along to the pool!
Provide a convenient home base for charging and synching of your iPod by using a dock. With the right cables, you can connect your music player to your home stereo so you can listen to music or watch your video on your home theater’s 52 LCD TV. This allows you to easily download movies to your portable device and enjoy them in a theatre setting instead of a 2 ½ inch screen.
Don’t have the time, money or energy to go to the movies? Then let the movies come to you. With a home theater system, your family can enjoy watching a movie in the comforts of your own home while still getting a theater-like experience.
Creating a home theater system used to be a huge investment, and while it still will take a considerable chunk of change, advancements in technology are continually driving down prices. From digital projectors to premium leather furniture, items across the board have seen price reductions as of late. Viewing movies at home makes for great bonding time. And despite the hefty initial investment, you’ll save loads of money on tickets and concessions from the cinema.
It seems like a must-see movie is released on a weekly basis, but between the costs of tickets, gas and concessions, it can be too expensive to head out to the cinema every week. To save, I choose the movies I only go to the cinema to see movies that will be enhanced by the mammoth screen and impeccable sound system. These are mostly action movies or movies that have a profusion of special effects. For the other movies, I wait until they are released and available on DVD.
I recently invested on a home theater system, so now I can almost replicate the cinema experience in my own home. An entire room is no dedicated to an enormous projector screen and some state-of-the-art A/V equipment. To complete my home movie experience, I also got myself a few luxury recliners, similar to the seats you’ll find in upscale theaters. With dimmed lights and some popcorn, it feels like being in the movie theater already.
When it comes to a newer technology like LCD televisions, it’s important to recognize the manufacturers who produce the best products. In general, you will find that the Sony Bravia and Samsung LCD TVs are the highest in quality. While there are numerous other companies that manufacture LCD televisions, these three tend to stand out above the rest. When purchasing an LCD television, you want to ensure that you get the right size for the right price. For example, if you’re looking to place the television on a wall in your living room, you probably want something a little larger. 46 inches is the standard size for family televisions. If you’re looking more for a personal television, something 16-20 inches might be more your style.
Where you purchase is also important, as this can save you a lot of money. Avoid the retail stores unless you see a huge bargain on a sale, and shop online where there’s more competition and thus better prices.
Liquid crystal display, or LCD, technology is nothing new. It’s been utilized in personal calculators for years, and a few of your friends probably purchased LCD televisions when they became popular. LCD screens typically feature a thin panel containing multicolored crystals. A backlight shines through the crystals, providing images we recognize.
When shopping for a new television, try not to be taken in by tricky sales techniques. LCD screens offer a peerless viewing experience, but the technology is no longer innovative. As a result, shops aren’t justified in charging astronomical prices for what should be affordable 52 to 32 LCD TV models. Personal computers were once considered luxury items that only the elite could afford, but prices dropped as the technology became more familiar. The same principle should apply here.
What is all this talk about MHz when it comes to TV’s. Well first you need to understand what the term MHz is and what it does for TV watchers. MHz is the hertz (symbol: Hz) is the SI unit of frequency defined as the number of cycles per second of a periodic phenomenon.[1] One of its most common uses is the description of sinusoidal waves, particularly those used in radio and audio applications. Ok to put it in common terms it means the number of times power is passed through a wire or conductor. So the more hertz you have the higher quality the signal is because there is more of signal in length of time.
As far as what it means for TV’s is simple. The more consistent and smoother the flow of power the better the picture and sound will be. The only problem is the price you will pay for the higher MHz TV’s. With an LCD TV you would like nothing less than 120 MHz if that is in your price rang. This is because LCD TV’s can have a problem with a lag or a jumpy screen when watching some programs with only an 60 MHz TV. Now plasma TV’s do not have this problem at all when it comes to MHz. But you can see a higher quality picture with an 120 MHz plasma TV. Now when it comes down to anything over 240 MHz the human eye will not be able to see the difference at all. Most people to be honest with you will never notice the difference between a 60 MHz and 120 MHz TV.
